We had a great experience with Distinctive for the upgrade of our bathroom. From the design process, choosing of materials, through to the handling of the project itself, all was handled wonderfully. The contractors were terrific in their communication – letting us know when and what they were doing each step of the project. We are very happy with the result of our upgrade and would go back to Distinctive for future projects.

We wanted a one-stop shop to tackle the largest and most stressful renovation we’ve ever done (complete kitchen Reno). DKB was very competitive in costs and coordinated every aspect of the work; design, demo, plumbing, electrical, drywalling, flooring, installation… all of it!

From our first meeting for consultation and subsequent design appointments with Julianna, we knew we made the right choice. Her design was EXACTLY what we had hoped for and needed in a kitchen. We appreciated her time and expert guidance throughout that all important foundational piece of this massive (for us anyways) undertaking.

Job foreman Kim was a phenomenal partner to work with on this as well. Professional, courteous and obviously skilled to no end. He really brought Julianna’s designs to life and did so with an attention to detail that showed just how much pride he takes in his work.

Tania was our coordinator and kept us in the loop in terms of scheduling and what to expect each day, and each week. She also was quick to respond to questions we had or any issues that popped up.

The whole DKB staff are incredible.

We hope to have them back to help us update our three bathrooms one day. Can’t recommend enough.

With the professional help of Kelly Ouellette had our small corner shower removed and replaced with a beautiful 36″ x 60″ shower. Kelly helped us with choices of tiles etc. Service was polite and courteous with work being done in precisely time and schedule. Workers were always on time. Very happy with experience.

She listened to my concerns and my style ideas then guided me through the process of picking out all products for my bathroom renovation as well as answering all my construction related questions with confidence. I’ve heard horror stories about kitchen projects lasting so much longer than what was originally anticipated and to my surprise, even after encountering major structural issues, the time frame was met. I was so thankful to have chosen a large company that has all the staff needed to address any issue.

From the design meetings (Amazing designer: Kelly Ouellette) to the finished product (Thank you Joel and team), the experience with Distinctive was fantastic! It’s simply a well managed company (Dominic Manzo is extremely well organized and very pleasant to deal with) that hires true professionals to complete every step of your project. We will be starting our second project with them in the spring! I could not recommend them more!

I want to thank the DBK Ottawa team for the successful renewal of my Kitchen. Emily (Meechan) using her talent and ability translated my general comments into a comprehensive design which included accessories, couleur scheme and cost. Emily personality made that process extremely easy for me. Them, Kim, and Dennis took Emily’s plans and started the installation process. I was surprised to see my kitchen appearing under my eyes. throw-out the project I could appreciate Kim’s experience and workmanships. I realize that the successful completion of the project also needed people to manage the logistic of the project. Their dedication made sure that materials arrived promptly and the efforts of various trades were well coordinated. It is the second time that I use DBK for kitchen renovations and I am happy with my decision both times.

The DBK Team was completely professional and wonderful to deal with. From the first meeting with our consultant to the numerous planning sessions, questions, revisions to the last day when they finished the project and the crew left, we could not be any happier. This is an update to my initial review (see below for first review). Last summer we had our kitchen renovated. As you can imagine we were anxious about the amount of time it would take. We went to see Kelly again for the design and consultation and she reassured us to not stress over this. As with our bathroom designs, the process was very smooth with Kelly and she helped us keep costs down. Sheilagh the PM was very responsive and Michel and the reno crew were efficient, polite and did excellent work. Believe it or now, we had a functioning kitchen after 3 weeks!
